The short version
When you book a tour or ticket through a link on this site, we earn a commission from the booking platform at no extra cost to you. You pay the same price you would pay going direct.
Who we work with
The trips listed here are sold by Viator and GetYourGuide. Both are established booking platforms that handle the payment, the confirmation and the customer service. We are an affiliate partner of both, which means the platform pays us a share of its own margin when a booking originates here.

How this affects what we write
The commercial relationship is real, so it is worth being specific about the rules we hold ourselves to.
- We publish the operator’s own rating and review count, never an invented score of our own.
- Where a listing contradicts itself — on cancellation terms or group size — we say so rather than quoting the flattering half.
- Where a trip does not do what its name suggests, we say that too. The horseback experience does not reach the crater rim, and we state it on the card.
- Prices and inclusions are taken from the live listing at the time of writing. They change, and the checkout page is always the authority.
- We do not accept payment for placement or for a favourable description.
Independence of the planning pages
The reference pages on this site — opening hours, ticket rules, the eruption record, park statistics — are sourced from the national park, the civil protection authority and the volcano observatory. No commercial partner has any input into them, and nothing on those pages changes because a trip pays better.
